休葛蘭飾演的過氣歌手艾利斯，因當年夥伴單飛後自己反而成績不佳常自怨自艾
為了爭取翻身的機會
答應幫當紅小天后作一首歌，讓她在巡迴演唱時發表
可是他只會作曲不會作詞，找人來幫他作詞，寫出來的東西又很"芭樂"不夠吸引人
剛好巧遇珠兒芭利摩所飾演的蘇菲，這位有點怪怪的才女，只是隨便順口說了二句，就有如妙筆生花
讓艾利斯驚為他的救世主，請求蘇菲協助作詞
在後來的合作過程中，二人互相鼓勵，進而產生了感情（不然電影怎麼演得下去…）
蘇菲曾經在感情受過創傷，心裡一直被過去所困擾，
Way Back into Love
可說是她的心聲，至情至性…果真被小天后所採用
但二人也因小天后對歌曲詮釋的方式起了爭執
對感情很敏感的蘇菲，面對看起來花心又不體諒她的艾利斯變得卻步

要怎麼改變這個僵局…

最後是艾利斯自已作詞作曲寫了一首歌，在小天后的演唱會上，唱出他對蘇菲的心意
看到他這樣的改變及突破，讓蘇菲真是感動不已


在這部幽默溫馨的小品裡面，其實有許多微妙的比喻
特別是原本自怨自艾的艾利斯，如果他又像以往一樣，把自己給放棄了
不但會失去蘇菲，也無法在他的事業上有所突破
但最後他能自己作曲作詞對蘇菲表白
代表著他自我的成長及改變，進而讓事情有了轉機

現實生活上，當我們面對困境，不也該如此嗎？

在欣賞電影時，一直覺得這首歌似乎是唱到我心裡面去
當有這麼一個人讓自己覺得可以期待時
雖然很想提起勇氣，但不知不覺就變得有所保留…
然後…懷抱著希望卻又有點消極的認為…一切自有他的安排
